Whale Museum

The Whale Museum is located in the village of Caniçal and it is a witness of all the history of whale hunting and its associated activities. Here we can find photos, videos, artefacts and vessel models used at the time of this practice.

Nowadays, the Whale Museum is developing studies of the Cetaceous of the Madeira Archipelago. We can highlight the “Project for the Preservation of Cetaceous in the Madeira Archipelago”.
