Madeira Natural Park

The Madeira Natural Park has been created with the objective of preserving a huge natural legacy that is a world reliquary and includes some species in risk of disappearance, as well as the preservation of some humanized areas of high quality.

The park covers a huge area all over the island, with a few delimited, total and partial, natural reserves, protected landscapes and recreational areas.

Objectives of the Park:

Ecological and scientific objectives
Preservation of areas that may in some way contribute to the worldwide biodiversity and to the welfare of populations living in adjacent areas.

Leisure and Tourism objectives
Development of several walk courses with the objective of showing, in an organized way, a rich natural heritage .
