Distribution and Habitat: Originating in South America. In the Madeira it grows as an ornamental plant in gardens.
Description: This tree may reach a height of 15 m. Its top is dense; the trunk is thick with dark bark and cracks. The leaves are imparipinnate and have 11 to 29 yellowish green oblong leaflets. The blossoms constitute small yellow or orange flowers with 2 cm in diameter. The fruit is a samara (a type of pod) with a narrow wing and 1 to 3 seeds.
