Distribution and Habitat: Present in the extreme northeastern region of the Atlantic Ocean. Relatively frequent at more than 500 m depth.
Description: Carapace much broader than long with a flat surface and distinct grooves that outline the different regions. The chelipeds are wide and narrow. It generally presents a reddish brown colouration. Its carapace ranges from 10 cm to 15 cm.

Observations: Of large commercial interest.
