Distribution and Habitat: The presence of this whale in the region is occasional. It occurs preferentially along the continental platform, in deep areas.

Description: Its body is long and robust and the colouration varies from grey to dark brown. The colouration of the head is lighter, with a slight cavity in the blowhole area ending in a short beak. The inferior jaw slightly projects itself in comparison to the upper one, and two teeth are visible in males. It reaches 6 m in length and may weigh 2500 Kg.
