Common name: Common two-banded seabream.

Distribution and Habitat: It inhabits deep areas of the coast up to 100 m depth.
Description: High, elongated and compressed body with a curved dorsal profile that goes from the snout to the tail peduncle. The mouth has a series of teeth. The back is brownish grey, the sides have a silver colour and the belly is slightly lighter. It presents a black blotch next to the nape and another one in the tail peduncle. It reaches between 20 and 40 cm in length.

Observations: Species with commercial value. Caught with handline.
