Distribution and Habitat: Originating in Colombia, the flamingo flower is the the most cultivated by regional floriculturists.

Description: This herbaceous plant reaches 80 cm in height and has aereal roots that are able to absorb water from the air. Its blossom constitutes a spadix (yellow and where the small flowers concentrate) and sword (red and heart-shaped) and the heart-shaped leaves are green and somewhat rough and shiny.
