Distribution and Habitat: Macronesia endemic species. It may be found in the Laurissilva in moist areas, namely, in the riverside banks. It may be seen in Serra de Água, in the Ribeira da Ponta de Sol valley, in Calheta and Paúl do Mar.
Description: It may reach a height of up to 7 m. Its green and tender leaves are generally longer and wider, and the flowers are arranged in staffs 6 cm in length.
Conservation statute and Threats: Abundant species, under the statutes ascribed to the Laurissilva forest.
