Distribution and Habitat: Endemic species of Madeira, common in the Northern coast of the Laurissilva at an altitude above 550 m. It may be seen in moist areas of Porto da Cruz and Ribeiro Bonito, in Santana.
Description: The green leaves of the fern may reach 90 cm in length.
Conservation statute and Threats: Abundant species, under the statutes ascribed to the Laurissilva forest.
