Distribution and Habitat: This endemic species of Madeira lives in shadowy and moist areas of the Laurissilva, between 700 and 1000 m altitude. The anemone-leaved stork's bills may be seen in Ginjas, São Vicente, and between Ribeiro Frio and Portela.
Description: This herbaceous plant may reach a height of 1 m, its stem is short and the leaves are outlined and shiny green. The flowers are assembled in blossomings with rosy petals.
Conservation statute and Threats: Abundant species, under the statutes ascribed to the Laurissilva forest.
Observations: In the northern coast, this plant mat be found almost near the sea. Blooming season is from March to December.
