Distribution and Habitat: This species is frequent in shadowy places and in the Madeira forest, where it grows close to water flows. It is common all over the island and may be seen in Santo da Serra, Porto da Cruz and Fajã da Nogueira.

Description: This fern has white leaves that are extremely evident due to their size and width (it reaches 3 meters).

Conservation statute and Threats: Abundant species, not threatened.
