Distribution and Habitat: Its presence in the region is occasional. It occurs in all seas, from tropical waters to subpolar waters. May be seen around the islands, but it is rare in any other place near the coast.
Description: This whale has a very elongated body; the dorsal fin is higher and located farther forward than other Sei whales. Its body colouration is bluish grey dark in the ventral region. When it surfaces, you may see the blowhole and the dorsal fin. When it dives it does not show its tail fluke. The vertical blow reaches a height of up to 3 m. The adults reach a length of 14 m and may weigh 25.000 Kg.

Observations: Frequent during the spring and summer months.
