Distribution and Habitat: Its presence in the region is rare. Migratory species that occurs in all oceans.
Description: It has round protruding knobs or humps on its head and flippers. These flippers are very long and may reach up to 1/3 of the animals total body length. The colouration is black-dark blue in the dorsal region and light or dark in the ventral region. When it dives it curves its back and it totally elevates its tail fluke. It may weigh 30.000 Kg and reach 14 m in length.
Conservation statute and Threats: This worldwide vulnerable species is not evaluated in the region.
Observations: May be seen during migration in the spring and autumn months.
