Distribution and Habitat: The Painted Lady comes to Madeira irregularly, where it may be found in gardens or flowery open areas. It is widely spread out but it is rare to see it in large numbers. Its migration is common, but it is also a resident.

Description: Males' size is 55-70 mm, females' is 60-72 mm. Butterflies with a pink wing and black and white marks.
