Distribution and Habitat: It occurs in the Madeira Archipelago. It nests in the Madeira and Porto Santo islands and may be found in any area with vegetation composed of bushes and/or trees, namely in the indigenous forest.
Description: Round body with an orange colouration on the chest plumage.
Conservation statute and Threats: Subspecies of minor concern. Population of approx. 10.000 individuals that presents wide areas of occurrence and distribution.
Observations: Extremely common species, with a positive populational trend in the last 10 years. It is rare in the Porto Santo island. The effect of occasional visitors over the resident population is unknown.
